The Barbara

One of one.

Mary Miller Weaver stitched this tapestry in 1975. She was a Virginia nurse who collected needlepoint patterns from the places she traveled, and she worked many of them in the passenger seat on weekend drives. Years later, her daughter Barbara wanted Mary's work carried, not kept in a drawer. This bag carries her name.

Ribboned stripes in rose and berry run across a mint ground, with bouquets of roses, pansies, tulips, and forget-me-nots between them. Mary's initials and the year are stitched along the bottom, just as she left them. The back is cut from buttery purple leather, and the H.Rae brass plate sits on the outside as well as inside. She is lined in Liberty London, with a custom leather bottom to hold her shape.

She comes with a custom-cut purple leather shoulder strap and a long dark brown leather crossbody strap.
