The Buckle — September Preorder
The Buckle — September Preorder
Couldn't load pickup availability
Preorder. Made to order, shipping end of September.
The first fifty sold in half an hour. My smith is making fifty more.
A solid brass belt buckle, weighted, made one at a time by a metalsmith in Utah. My design, stamped H.Rae on the back, where only you will see it.
The frame opens. Your canvas goes in. When the season turns, or you finish something better, it comes out and the next one goes in. One buckle, however many canvases you have.
Choose your finish at checkout
Gold is polished, bright. Silver is the same brass, brushed to a soft matte. Both take a patina.
What fits
Anything around 2″ × 3″ total (internal size 1.5" x 2.5") in any mesh. Most of what is already in your project bag.
In the box
The buckle, in the finish you choose.
My magnolia canvas, printed in London on 13 interlock and cut to the frame, ready for your needle.
Two sets of screws, so a thick piece seats as cleanly as a fine one.
And a polishing cloth, which you may never need. Brass takes on a patina with wear. Mine has gone soft and uneven at the corners where my hand finds it, and I have no intention of touching it. But the cloth is there if you would rather keep it bright, and neither answer is wrong.
A note on the Porter
The first fifty shipped with a Porter, a fabric case sewn by a fellow Ladysmith. There were only ever fifty, and they are gone. These do not include one.
The strap
It fits any 1.5″ belt you already own or you can order a custom belt from Form Function Form. Link available upon request.
When
Each is made individually, by hand, by one person. Fifty of them takes time. I expect to ship by the end of September and I will write to you if anything changes.
Made
Brass, Utah. Canvas, London.
